Guest coach · press & hand balance

Tamzen brings a movement and hand-balancing background to the press specifically — the compression, the shapes and the patience it takes to build one properly. Together, Elliott and Tamzen mean twice the eyes on you and twice the hands-on correction across the two hours.

Who it's for

This one has a strength floor. It's built for people who already hold a handstand and now want to press up into it — with control, from the floor, no jump. If that's you, this is the session that cracks it.

✓ You hold a handstand

A 10-second freestanding handstand, or a solid 30 seconds chest-to-wall. You've got the top position — now you want to build into it from the floor.

✓ You keep jumping it

You can muscle a press with a little hop, but you want the real thing: slow, controlled, hips leading, no momentum.

Not quite for you if…

You can't yet hold a 10-second handstand or 30 seconds chest-to-wall. The press needs that base first — do our beginner workshop or the free app, then come back for this.

You'll leave with

What you'll leave with

01

Your press, analysed

Two coaches watch your press and pinpoint your weak points — so you leave knowing exactly what's holding you back.

02

A plan to fix it

The drills, in order, for whatever's missing — a clear way forward you can train on your own.

03

The full technique

Take-off, compression and unrolling broken down — factoring in your strength, flexibility and movement patterning.

Questions

You should be able to hold a 10-second freestanding handstand, or a solid 30 seconds chest-to-wall. If you're close but not sure, message us before booking and we'll tell you honestly. The press needs that base to build on.

Some people do — usually the ones who had the strength all along and just needed the lean and timing fixed. Most don't get it on the day, and that's normal. Everyone leaves knowing their exact sticking point and how to train it.

We cover the press from the floor — both straddle and pike paths — and give you the drills for whichever suits your body. Compression, take-off and the unroll all get their own time.

Wapping is the riverside neighbourhood just south of Shadwell in East London. It has its own Overground station, and it's an easy walk from there to OverGravity — so it's a handy alternative route in.

Comfortable workout kit you can move in, water, and either bare feet or grippy socks. That's it.
